The Freedom Run 5K, held every
July 4th, started in 1982 when 686 people turned out for the event. The
race has become an annual tradition for the mountain area, drawing over
1,200 participants in 2007.

Funds
raised by the Freedom Run will help Mt. Evans care for underinsured and
uninsured patients as well as support numerous services including grief
counseling, transportation for patients to medical appointments,
respite care for family caregivers, and Camp Comfort, a bereavement
camp for children.

Enjoy the Denver Brass, Celtic Colorado Bagpipes and Drums, and Rocky
Mountain Highland Dancers. Don't forget to bring your lawn chair or
blanket.

partnership with the Evergreen Parks and Recreation District, at the
athletic fields at Buchanan Park. It will feature a variety of visual
artists, musicians, dancers, community groups, food vendors, and a
children's creative area where children can make wonderful works of art.
